no matter who you are or what your specific goals and reasons for seeking help, i believe everyone can benefit from the supportive, validating nature of therapy. whether you're hoping to build more effective coping skills, process past experiences, create more fulfilling interpersonal relationships, or better regulate distressing thoughts and feelings - i'm here to help.
my lived experiences as an immigrant and woman of colour have always informed my work as a mental health professional. in fact, what i love most about being a therapist is being able to connect with people from all walks of life and to create a safe space for people to feel truly heard and supported (especially those that may have felt underrepresented or excluded from traditional healthcare services). as such, my work is trauma-informed, feminist, and culturally sensitive. i believe we can only be understood through all intersecting aspects of our identities, including our gender, race, class, sexual orientation, disability, age, and religion. i also believe that mental health can’t be understood without a consideration of the historical, political, economic, and social factors that influence us.
as a therapist, i recognize that you are the expert of your own life, and i’m here to work collaboratively with you to uncover your existing strengths, share in any pain you may be experiencing, and add new meaning to your past and future experiences.
